My husband and I needed a Security Protected for some items we wanted to shop in a protected place. We are seniors and due to the fact it only weighed 65.7 pounds, my husband and a buddy could carry it simply. An additional selling point was that it has a 2.66 cu.ft. interior storage. It also came with lock down bolts which we bolted it to the floor.
The only situation we had was sliding off the opening to the batteries inside the door. We could not get it to budge but I place on a pair of rubber gloves and it snapped proper off. It can be locked with a key or with the combination lock, You pick your code for the mixture lock. It also tells you if the batteries are acquiring low but should you forget to replace them, you can still open it with the key. We are really pleased with this item. It was double boxed so it arrived in wonderful condition. Pleased in California!
I don't know if everyone else had this trouble, but the secure we received was absolutely defective. I do not know if it is the actual secure, or if it was broken during shipping.
The master important and the pass code did not perform at all. The safe did not open. We followed the instructions as soon as we received the protected, but the initially step of the instructions did not operate- Step 1- Insert over ride essential and turn right. After jiggling it, the essential took over an hour to open. It must not take over an hour to get a protected to open with a key.
Then we entered the factory preset pass code, and was in a position to lock and unlock the bolts even though the door was open BUT soon after one try, the factory preset code did not perform, neither would the more than ride key.
There the secure sat locked, and unable to be opened by either the keypad or the essential the inside the initially few hours of having it.
We returned this item quickly.
