I bought the two camera technique and this camera is Super! Yes you have to run a wire to power it (Duh!). But the signal is sent by way of two.4ghz. RF (the wireless component). You can mount the little DVR anywhere that you can get reception. I have mine down in the Den subsequent to my recliner, but, you can move it effortlessly if you need to monitor from, say, the kitchen. The two way "intercom" is good to have!
If you need power outage protection, you will desire to install a ups power outlet for every single camera (use one particular for a computer and hook the camera supply into the outlet from the ups)
